8. Godzilla Vs. Kong

Release Date: May 29, 2020

The Pitch: Godzilla takes on King Kong in a battle for ultimate monster supremacy.

Why It's Ridiculous: "Versus" movies always raise a bit of a chuckle because they inherently sound a bit cheesy and desperate, but at least Godzilla and Kong have a well-documented feud that would lend itself to a movie just fine.

It's still a giant ape beating up a giant lizard at the end of the day, though.

Will It Be Any Good?: To their credit, Legendary Pictures are taking their time with setting up the new Godzilla-Kong universe, so it's easy to be fairly optimistic about the end result...as long as it doesn't make the mistake of taking itself too seriously.
