How often do you sit down and end up truly surprised by what a movie is showing you? With the advent of smartphones in everyone's pocket, it's easier than ever to take a cheeky set snap or for an actor to tweet an overzealous plot spoiler, and so ruin those sneaky surprises a screenwriter has lovingly crafted for us. In the age of Internet leaks where movie sets need to be locked down tighter than the White House, little is truly shocking anymore, though in terms of either a specific plot point or the overall tenor of the film, these 15 movies, for better or for worse, didn't just serve up the expected. From villainous reveals to character deaths and awards prospects, these films delivered some of the more surprising cinematic revelations in 2015, and leave us hopeful that 2016 might similarly upend the predictable. And yes, in case you somehow haven't seen it, one of our predictions does relate to a Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoiler, so if you haven't seen it yet (shame on you!), you might want to leave and come back here when you have. Here are 15 predictions for 2015 movies that everybody got wrong.
15. Michael Douglas Uses An Ant-Man Suit - Ant-Man
The Prediction: At some point in the movie, we will see Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) get in his old Ant-Man suit, probably to help save the day when his protegee Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is in a tight spot while facing off against the villainous Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll). What Actually Happened: In fairness, we do see Pym using the Ant-Man suit in a few flashback sequences, but never once do we actually see Douglas getting into the suit, and especially not in the present day, as Lang's Ant-Man ultimately takes on Yellowjacket solo. Though pretty much everyone wanted to see Douglas kicking some a**, this was likely rejected because a 70-year-old Douglas suiting up probably wouldn't be very convincing, and possibly unintentionally hilarious.
