6. The Punisher

The Punisher is one of Marvel’s darker comic book characters, capable of extreme violence and almost always involved in gritty storylines. Some runs of Punisher comics have been printed under the “Marvel MAX” imprint for adult readers.

In 2010, after a few failed attempts to make the perfect Punisher movie, Marvel announced that they had regained the rights to the character. Since then, fans everywhere have been waiting to see when the Punisher would make his debut in a Marvel Studios property.

There’s a rumour that Punisher actually already made an appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier which just makes the heart grow fonder. While it seems that Punisher, most likely, will pop up on Netflix's Daredevil sometime in the future, there are still plenty of fans that would love to see him get another crack at cinematic glory. 

A former US Marine Captain who exacts revenge on those who murdered his family (and almost himself) has the makings of a must-watch movie in itself. Hollywood just needs to get their act together.
