11. 100 Bullets

Here’s a neat little moral dilemma: What if someone gave you a gun, a 100 bullets, evidence that everything bad in your life could be laid at a particular person’s feet and the promise that law-enforcement wouldn't stop you if you took any action as a result?

That’s the dilemma that’s played out again and again – with wildly differing results – in Eduardo Risso and Brian Azzarello’s 100-issue story, 100 Bullets.

Sure, the insanely complex backstory to the whole noir affair requires a heck of a suspension of disbelief, but the elegance of the concept is still impressive, and the execution (no pun intended) over the series’ run could easily translate to film.

Remember Richard Kelly's 2009 psychological thriller The Box? Where a small wooden box arrives on the doorstep of a married couple, who know that opening it will grant them a million dollars and kill someone they don't know. Picture a film with a similar morality theme, only this time the film will actually be good.
