15 Simple Fixes That Would Have Made Jurassic World Awesome

14. Supporting Characters Who Are Actually Developed

A massive roster of supporting characters fills out Jurassic World, such as InGen head of security Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio), the park's owner Mr. Masrani (Irrfan Khan), a ton of Hoskins' soldiers, and of course the tech team who helps keep the park in operation. It's a shame that with so many bodies to hurl into the mayhem, so few of the characters are developed beyond the obvious labels. The original movie largely featured fleshed-out people with clear motivations and personalities: hell, even the sleazy lawyer felt like a complete person. Not so much here: Hoskins is a dull, generic bad guy, and the surprisingly likeable Masrani doesn't get more than a few minutes of screen time throughout despite being the entire reason the park exists. Wouldn't it be interesting to know more about him? And a major trick was missed by not developing the soldiers, which could've helped evoke a serious Aliens vibe as they went in to take down the Indominus.
