Actors are busy people with tight schedules which can often prevent them from coming aboard projects they'd otherwise love to be a part of.

Oscar Isaac struck it lucky, then, when it turned out that Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Annihilation were being shot on the same studio lot.

This allowed Isaac to star in both movies with the blessing of The Last Jedi's director Rian Johnson, though it did require the actor to shoot the projects concurrently, working on one film during the morning and the other in the afternoon.

That might not be the most ideal set-up for an actor in terms of finding their character's head-space, but it certainly didn't impact the end result in either case.
