The success of this character who is, when you boil it down, essentially HAL's friendly brother, was always going to rest on who gives this sentient being a voice and, in that respect, Paul Bettany doesn't disappoint.

As the more up to date version of Tony Stark's hired help, J.A.R.V.I.S. is so much more than a butler - he pretty much powers and runs the whole of Stark's mansion operation. Through Bettany's performance, this bantering bot is involved in some of the funniest moments of all Iron Man movies and, in a plot twist that very much brought Bettany into Vision, the character has taken on a whole new form within the MCU.
