As brilliant as 2006's Casino Royale was, it suffered through this particularly undignified moment, as Vesper Lynd speaks to Bond about "former SAS types with easy smiles and expensive watches", before glancing at his wrist and asking, "Rolex?". Bond smirks and says, "Omega", to which Vesper replies, "Beautiful." The fact that an attempt was made to tie it into the dialogue just made it stick out even more, and is a rare clunky moment in an otherwise excellent film. Granted, James Bond is a commercial juggernaut and just about every company would love to have their product featured in one of his outings (look at the Heineken product placement in Skyfall), but MGM should know better than to patronise audiences like this, especially in a pivotal Bond entry that was trying to curry audience favour back after the risible run of Brosnan Bond flicks.
