11. Hermione Obliviates Her Parents
During the Deathly Hallows Part I, Harry and Hermione take steps to protect their muggle families. While the Dursleys are moved away from Privet Drive because it's no longer safe for them there, Hermione obliviates her parents, erasing all memories and photographs of their daughter.
It is an incredibly touching scene, but the ripple effects of something like this would be disastrous. Mr and Mrs Granger aren't the only ones who know they have a daughter, so what happens when any family friends, aunts or uncles or grandparents come round to visit and ask how Hermione is doing?
She may be one of the best young witches Hogwarts has seen for some time, but even Hermione Granger wouldn't be able to obliviate the memory of everyone who ever knew her just like that.
