The Original Movie: Retired CIA officer Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is forced to resurrect his Very Particular Set of Skills when his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), is kidnapped in France in order to be trafficked into the sexual slavery underworld. The Ripoff: Little is known about the movie so far, but the premise sounds simple enough: a mother's (Halle Berry) son is abducted, and with no apparent means to contact the authorities, she'll stop at nothing to get him back. It remains to be seen whether Berry will be pulling the same "middle-aged action hero" shtick that Neeson honed so well, but the concept is incredibly familiar, and hell, even the title sounds like a cheap knockoff.
