The Scene: Vlad's (Luke Evans) wife Mirena (Sarah Gadon) falls from a cliff edge, and though Vlad tries to save her, she collides with the Earth. However, she's able to have a farewell monologue with Vlad as she succumbs to her injuries, encouraging him to drink her blood to give him enough strength to save their son. Why It Sucked: One of the most weirdly misjudged scenes in any movie this year, it makes absolutely no sense that Mirena falls hundreds of feet to the Earth and doesn't die instantly. No, she's able to talk for a few more minutes, leaving a ridiculously beautiful corpse behind when, in reality, she'd be a bloody, unrecognisable hunk of meat. It makes no sense at all.
