15 Worst Performances In Star Wars Movies
5. Mark Hamill - Luke Skywalker (In The Original Trilogy)
Sometimes nostalgia can be quite useful. In this particular case, thanks to the nostalgia associated with the Original Star Wars Trilogy, it's incredibly easy to forget that the three movies are led by a terrible performance.
Mark Hamill has turned into a perfectly capable actor now and he gave a strong performance in both The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, but in the Original Trilogy he's emotionless, charisma-free, whiny and incredibly annoying. Luke does have a great character arc and therefore still works, but Mark Hamill's performance comes dangerously close to sinking Luke altogether.
While the character grows during The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Hamill's performance remained just as inadequate across the three films. This performance is still probably the single biggest problem in A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, which are both otherwise incredibly refined films.
