Adam Sandler is well-known for his absurd and over-the-top product placement. Pretty much the only saving grace is his clear enthusiasm for the products he shills at least suggests he is a genuine fan of them, as with Subway in Happy Gilmore. Here it's Popeyes Chicken, as Sandler's Nicky holds back a fleet of demonic entities by supplying them with a gigantic box of chicken, to which they declare "Popeyes chicken is the shiznit!". There's also a second reference when Sandler himself declares, "Popeyes chicken is fuckin' awesome!". The insistent manner in which the name is clearly uttered and placed in shot makes this one particularly painful, though at least Sandler does look like he enjoys it, and really, this is the least of the film's issues.
