17 Most Shameless Product Placements in Movies

6. The Thomas Crown Affair - Pepsi One

Everything about this scene feels concocted with the maximum crass efficiency, from the extraordinary loud sound of the can being opened by Rene Russo, to the fact that the camera in fact lingers on Russo opening and then skulling the can - with the chugging skill of a third-year University student, no less - while co-stars Denis Leary and Frankie Faison look on in absolute astonishment. It's impossible to know whether the pair are acting, or are simply stunned that anyone would dare shoot a bout of product placement so insultingly blatant, though their nervous shared glance suggests two men worried about quite what they signed up for. Even after her initial chug, Russo is sure to hold the can to the camera while talking, and though one should probably try and concentrate on Leary's dialogue, it's difficult to when all we can see is Russo necking the rest of the can, and all we can hear over his dialogue is the sound of the liquid pouring down her throat like she found it in a desert.
