It's not the best movie movie in the X-Men universe, but Days Of Future Past was the first (and so far only) X-Men picture to receive an Oscar nomination. Given the generally high standard of the series to date, that's either long overdue recognition or an incredible insult, take your pick.

Your average X-Men movie is usually more spirited and imaginative (not to mention shorter) than typical superhero fare and Days Of Future Past is no exception, the plot packing in everything from time travel to a pre-Watergate Richard Nixon. If Suicide Squad can swipe a golden statuette then this franchise deserves a half-dozen, if only for being able to pull off having Nixon and Wolverine in the same film film.
