5. Strange Tricks Dormammu - Doctor Strange
The Film
Possibly the longest-awaited Marvel movie of the entire MCU - at least for Strange fans (including Kevin Feige) - the stand-alone Doctor Strange was a heady mix of effects and good old-fashioned marvel, propped up by the exceptionally well-cast Benedict Cumberbatch at the titular Sorceror.
It's an origin story that stands apart from the rest of the franchise, as not only does it introduce a character but also a whole new set of ideas, opening up the magical realm of the MCU for some truly dazzling future opportunities.
The Moment
Though there are some reservations here about the overall design of big villain Dormammu, the sequence that sees Doctor Strange use the Time Stone within the Eye Of Agamotto to bamboozle him into submission is quite wonderful overall.
It's an incredibly inventive sequence that sees Strange sacrifice himself over and over to defy the being's lust for total control and seeing the battle of wits is really quite something to behold.
