6. Jamie Foxx - Robin Hood

The Role: Little John, a veteran of the Crusades who becomes unlikely allies with Robin Hood (Taron Egerton).

Why It's Unexpected: Little John has been typically depicted as a white man on-screen to date (and, well, a bear in the 1973 Disney animation), so few likely pegged Foxx to win the role of Hood's steely mentor.

Will It Work?: Regardless of the film's overall quality, it's easy to see this being one of its more enjoyable revisions to the Robin Hood story.

Foxx is great at playing forthright bada**es, so having him train up Robin Hood to become a legend could be enjoyable if the script and tone are right.
