14. Ben Mendelsohn's Moff - Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One

The Hero: Though we know little about her, the hero will be a rebel pilot played by Felicity Jones, whose mission is to steal the plans for the Death Star.

The Villain: In the vein of Grand Moff Tarkin, Ben Mendelsohn will play the villain, presumably tasked with either guarding the plans or stopping the rebels.

Why The Villain Will Be More Interesting: Though he may be little more than a glorified security guard, we know Ben Mendelsohn is going to elevate the role. Felicity Jones is an undeniably-talented actress but Ben Mendelsohn was born to play villains, especially in a giant production such as this one. His strong work in Animal Kingdom and Exodus should be proof of that.

What could really set his character apart however, is the aftermath of the heist. We know that the rebels will be successful, so how will Mendelsohn react? There’s a lot of potential here for his character to run, or maybe to switch sides as a means to avoid likely being executed. After all, there’s nothing more interesting than a man with nothing to lose, so hopefully we'll get to see Mendelsohn act that out.
