11. Vulture Is Liz's Dad - Spider-Man: Homecoming
Spider-Man: Homecoming actually concluded with a literal WTF moment coming from the mouth of Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), but there was a far more shocking scene earlier in the movie, when it was revealed that Adrian Toomes aka Vulture (Michael Keaton) is the father of Peter's (Tom Holland) romantic interest Liz (Laura Harrier).
When Peter defers from his superhero duties and goes to pick up Liz for the homecoming dance, Toomes answers the door, in one of the rare, legitimately surprising moments in an MCU movie.
Cue one of the franchise's most awkward and tense all-time scenes as Toomes drives Liz and Peter to the dance and deduces that Peter is Spider-Man, before sternly warning him to leave his business as Vulture well alone.
This whole stretch of the movie is pure white-knuckle suspense and doesn't even feature a single action beat, because it's set up by such a clever and unexpected twist.
