This promo for Pitch Perfect 2 was shrewdly launched just before Katy Perry's Super Bowl halftime show, getting in front of all the eyes that had been looking the other way while all of the football was on. There's also some football players in the thing, for the people who were actually watching Super Bowl for the sport. Perhaps the best judged ad of the night, though getting this one trailer on air cost about 10% of the actual budget for the film.
13. Insurgent
Rather unusually, the Insurgent trailer shows us a sustained sequence rather than a fragment of shots. They're both sci-fi films about corrupted utopias and they each have a young female lead but the trailers for Tomorrowland and Insurgent couldn't be any more different. I'm hopeful that this sequel will build on what was right about Divergent and get over the problems.
