Minions is a spin-off from the Despicable Me series so it's going to make an absolute fortune. The film was written by Brian Lynch, who is probably best known for his comic book work - Angry Naked Pat, the Spike and Angel spin-offs, and more recently, Monster Motors. He's actually a really funny guy, and these oddball bananoid characters suit his off-kilter sense of humour pretty well.

I'm worried that this promo for Hot Tub Time Machine 2 spoils the big pay-off from the end of the movie. Though, actually, worrying about plot when it comes to the sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine suggests I've probably got my priorities in a twist. This ad certainly deserves Brownie points for working in some topical references.
