15. It - Pennywise Kills Georgie

The late, great Tim Curry was an absolute master at delivering joyous, infectiously fun performances that were simply impossible not to love, and yet, as delightful as he was in most of his roles, he could also be pretty bloody scary when he wanted to be. '90s kids remember all too well, for he terrified them all as Pennywise the Clown.

Curry's rendition of Pennywise is, without question, one of the most iconic and brilliant evil clowns in any form of media, maybe even the most iconic, and every scene he's in is absolutely laced with dread. In particular, his first appearance - where he appears in a drain to greet his next victim, young Georgie (Tony Dakota) - still chills the blood even now. 

Here, Curry takes the manic energy he brought to most of his roles and plays it in a completely different key, superbly crafting a sadistic, gleeful monster that, understandably, gave many young viewers nightmares. His work is further enhanced by the sublimely creepy music, which gives Georgie's death a sinister, suspenseful ambience. As for It (1990), it's aged horribly, and that's being generous, but to give credit where it's due, this scene is genuinely very good, and its presentation of Pennywise remains timeless and immortal.
