20 Awesome Horror Movies In 2025 You Definitely Missed
20. Dangerous Animals
Dangerous Animals is the long overdue third feature from Sean Byrne (The Loved Ones, The Devil's Candy) - a stupendously entertaining survival horror film in which a free-spirited surfer (Hassie Harrison) finds herself preyed upon by a serial killer (Jai Courtney) with a penchant for feeding his victims to sharks.
There's something to be said for tight, lean, efficient horror flicks that deliver the expected goods without much fat on the bone, and Dangerous Animals is a stellar example of this.
Byrne understands the intricate mechanics of suspense and is aided by what's undeniably the best performance of Jai Courtney's career.
As Aussie serial killer Tucker, Courtney cuts an absolutely terrifying presence throughout even while clearly having a whole ton of fun playing an unrepentant psychopath.
Despite scoring strong reviews from critics Byrne's film sadly posted modest box office results before being quietly chucked on streaming, though hopefully it'll win itself a cult of devoted fans just as Byrne's two previous projects did.
