16. Gal Gadot - Wonder Woman

Though it remains to be seen whether or not Gal Gadot's career will flourish outside of this iconic role, it's hard to deny how well-cast she ultimately proved to be as Wonder Woman, after so much controversy about her slender frame and lack of acting chops.

In the superhero's solo movie, Gadot brought her A-game, making Diana a picture of strength and cunning, nailing the character's statuesque appeal and giving young women everywhere a screen role model to live up to.

Thanks to a nuanced, character-driven script (for the first two acts, anyway), Diana feels like an actual human being even with her ludicrous superpowers, with Gadot creating the DCEU's most well-calibrated "metahuman" to date.
