Seeing as Paramount already blew their load on their big stunt for this iteration of Mission: Impossible by including it in the film's trailer, it's fair enough that they might think 'screw it' and whack it on the poster as well. The shot from the film works so perfectly as a still image that it's hard to blame them. It's pure adrenaline given poster form.
