4. The Death Of Superman (Batman V Superman)

Batman v Superman ends, of course, with the death of Superman, sacrificing himself in order to kill Doomsday...but this fell somewhat flat for a number of reasons.

Firstly, it didn't feel remotely earned. Two movies isn't enough for the audience to truly care about Superman's "death" and the impact it has on the DCEU, so the arc ends up seeming rather rushed.

More to the point, impatiently beginning his resurrection at the very end of the movie felt rather over-eager, as he really needs to convincingly stay dead until late into Justice League for it to really mean anything.

However it pays off in Justice League, it felt way, way too soon in the DCEU to pull something like this.
