Why It Will Define 2017: For starters, it might end up being the year's most suspenseful and straight-up creepy scene, and it also seems to be proof of how to tweak iconic source material for the better.
In the book, Bill and Richie are looking at Georgie's old photo album when Pennywise pulls a similar trick, but to make it pop more visually, the scene has been cleverly changed, and the rapturous online response to the scene so far speaks for itself.
Even if the entire movie doesn't quite come together perfectly, at least it seems like director Andrés Muschietti has captured the novel's horrifying atmosphere exceptionally well.
