The Role: A cosmic entity who rules the planet Sakaar and runs gladiatorial games there, where he forces Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to do combat with one another.
Why It'll Define 2017: Jeff Goldblum is basically a dream cast member for just about anything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or really anything in general), so to see him appearing in what's set to be one of the MCU's most promising and endearingly weird movies to date has left fans pretty damn excited.
Plus, Goldblum has confirmed that director Taika Waititi allowed him to heavily improvise on set, which will hopefully allow the actor's classic eccentric sensibilities to shine through.
And of course, everyone's praying for him to share the screen with Sam Neill for even a single moment.
