11. Interior Decorating

How is it that everyone's house or apartment looks like it was designed by a team of people who were paid to make it look amazing? Oh, because it was. No one in their twenties has enough money to buy furniture sets, decorative wall art, and extras like wall sconces and area rugs, especially if they're working off of a low salary (like a writer, weird) and if they live in the metropolitan area, like Manhattan. It just doesn't happen. Unless they have a lot of help from their parents or get really lucky at the Salvation Army. I have two pieces of furniture in my living room, a sectional couch and a coffee table. The coffee table has certainly seen better days and the sectional looks amazing being it's chocolate brown, thus no stains. Another point in this entry is that it is rare you can rent an apartment that you can paint. Even if you can, there are usually restrictions on what colors you can paint your walls. If there are no restrictions, you'd never want to paint your bedroom too dark of a color for fear that on move out day you spend more time and money covering up the walls than you did painting them in the first place. So, all these beautiful colored bedrooms you see on TV shows and in movies aren't real. They're lies.

10. Drinking Wine & Lighting Candles Whilst In A Bubble Bath

One thing that I absolutely hate watching in movies and on TV shows is when girls get into a bathtub with candles lit. I don't know anyone who has done that before. On top of the candles, they're usually reading, which is ridiculous, and then they carefully reach outside of the tub and pick up a glass of wine, take a sip, and carefully put it back down. Now, I'm not the clumsiest person in the world, for sure, but I'm also not the most poised. If I were to take a bubble bath with candles, while reading a book and drinking wine, the first thing that would go wrong is the wine glass. It would slip out of my wet hands and shatter on the floor. The book would then plunge into the bathtub while I tried to shoo my dog away from the broken glass, who came to my rescue after hearing such a jarring noise, and then my hair would singe because I wouldn't realize it was hanging in a candle flame. If none of this happened, it would only be because I was so on edge that I couldn't even relax in the bath for fear that any of this would happen at any moment. Not such a calming scene, now is it?
