Without fail, every time I am pulled over, I do a terrible job of acting naturally. My voice quivers, my hands shake, I even start to ramble on about the stupidest things ever which can end up getting me into more trouble than a speeding ticket. Hank Moody of Californication is one character that can always act naturally despite the situation or level of impending imprisonment. Perhaps similar characters are better at not caring despite the consequences than I am, but I would love to not appear like an idiot in the face of law enforcement.
12. Expensive Rentals
A New Jersey native, I had to wait until I was 25 to rent a car, which was awful because the second I got my license, all I wanted to do was rent a beautiful car and drive it around like I owned the world. Every rental car I have seen in movies and TV (unless comically bad), have been beautiful, much nicer than any pre-owned auto I have had the pleasure of driving around. In Just Friends, Ryan Reynolds character Chris Brander goes as far as to purposely rent a Porsche to impress his high school flame. The dire reality of the situation? You want to rent a nice car, you have to pay a lot more than you think you do. And also, renting cars really isnt that fun and your first thought when getting into a rental car isnt I can do whatever I want because this is a rental, it is alright, lets make sure I have all of the scratches and dirt written down so that I know I wasnt responsible for them. Rental cars are no fun, kids. Dont listen to the media.
