Of the many ingenious parts of Ghostbusters and if this list has proven anything, there are many is the denouement. Which is to say, the climax. As in, the bit where it all goes to sh*t. When the team are faced with the architect of their destruction, and it winds up being the mascot of a marshmallow company, that's when you know this is a higher plane of comedy. There's a bunch of background references to the brand throughout the film, with a bag of the treats next to the self-cooking eggs and on a billboard during a later montage.
