Deadpool wasn't just a shock box office smash, it also totally delivered on its promise to be a highly irreverent, hilarious and daring superhero movie like absolutely nothing else out there.

While it's a shame the plot and villains weren't as adventurous as everything else, the film's sheer personality was so overwhelmingly fun that it was hard to care too much.

Ryan Reynolds gave a killer performance in the title role, basically redeeming himself for both X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Barakapool and, of course, Green Lantern.

The film will probably feel rather dated in a few years' time owing to all those timely pop-culture references, so enjoy it while you still can.
