The fifth entry into the Ice Age franchise is even more soulless and irritating than the last one, a dull cash-grab sure to be the babysitting tool of lazy parents the world over.

Ice Age is the quintessential example of a franchise where most of the entries blur together into an inseparable gloop, because they're all so damn samey. Again, the movie milks some ultra-cheap sentiment to nothing but tumbleweed, and though Scrat provides some minor amusement, his best work is long behind him.

Sadly, while it initially seemed like an underwhelming box office performance might put the series out to pasture, it still ended up scraping back almost four-fold its budget. Horrid filmmaking on every level.
