20. Benedict Cumberbatch Didn't Read The Full Script - Spider-Man: No Way Home

As secretive as the production of Spider-Man: No Way Home was - even more so than your usual Marvel Cinematic Universe movie - it was reasonable to expect that all of the cast were given access to the final shooting script and, y'know, actually read it.

But Benedict Cumberbatch, who admittedly plays only a supporting role in the film, opted against doing so, employing enormous restraint and deciding to only read part of the script, presumably that which was relevant to him. He said in an interview with USA Today:

"I haven't actually read the whole script! I did that on purpose because I just want the ride."

On one hand Cumberbatch clearly wanted to enjoy being surprised by the movie as fans were, but it also meant he wasn't burdened with the knowledge of all the big spoilers while on the film's press tour.

Considering the difficulties his co-star Tom Holland has faced with keeping a lid on spoilers, it's a reasonable stance to take.
