2. Prometheus – Jesus Nearly Made A Cameo

It’s no secret that Prometheus is positively brimming with religious themes and symbolism, but Ridley Scott nearly took the theological overtones one step further by including none other than Jesus Christ himself.

Well, when we say Jesus we don’t mean the loincloth wearing, turning water into wine guy we know from the bible. But an early version of the Prometheus script did include a sub-plot that told of an emissary sent to Earth by the Engineers to right the wrongs of the human race they had created and put us on a better path of existence, but being horrid humans we only went and crucified him.

Sound familiar? Because that sounds uncannily like the life of Jesus to us. Basically, Scott was saying that Jesus is an alien. Sorry, Christians.
