20. Why There Are So Many Night Of The Living Dead Copycats

Ever wondered why there are so many remakes of Night of the Living Dead? Well, back when the movie was made a notice of copyright during a film’s opening credits was required otherwise it would technically be in the public domain.

Due to a clerical flub, the proper copyright status wasn’t included when the movie changed its name from Night of the Flesh Eaters to Night of the Living Dead meaning that anyone could remake it or distribute it completely free of charge or permission.

Hence why we have later movies like Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection, A Night of the Living Dead, Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated, Night of the Living Dead 3D … the list is huge. And unfortunately pretty terrible.
