20 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2026
The most hyped TV shows coming in 2026.
Even with all the problems that the modern era of TV has, it remains an absolute embarrassment of riches where quality content is concerned.
It simply isn't physically possible to watch all the great shows released in a single calendar year, and so of course we all have to pick and choose those which look the most appealing to us.
And as the 2026 calendar starts to fill out, it's clear that viewers will once again have to make some gruelling choices, because there's an absolute avalanche of banger series due to release over the next 12 months.
But you probably can't go wrong with this list of 20 TV shows, ranging from long-awaited spin-offs to decades-later revivals, exciting new IPs, and the final seasons of some of your favourite current shows.
Needless to say, if you can't find a bunch of TV series to hunker down with over the next year, the material on offer definitely won't be the problem - we're all going to be drowning in it if this surface-scratching list is any indication...
20. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms release date: January 18, 2026
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the second spin-off in the Game of Thrones universe - an adaptation of the prequel novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg, set roughly 80 years after House of the Dragon and 90 years before the main show.
The series revolves around a hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall aka Dunk (Peter Claffey) and his squire Aegon Targaryen aka Egg (Sol Ansell), as they adventure their way across Westeros in their quest to become legends.
This spin-off will notably have a lighter tone than either of the two previous series, focused instead on the charming friendship between Dunk and Egg, though the trailers certainly suggest it still retains the epic scope, brutal action, and visual majesty of its predecessors.
And in case you're dreading what the future may hold for it, HBO has already renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a second season, which just recently began shooting in Belfast.
