If you assumed the Duffer Brothers might be taking a well-earned break following the conclusion of Stranger Things' fifth season, think again, as they're already executive-producing their next project - Netflix's new sci-fi series The Boroughs.

The show certainly touts an amusingly off-the-wall premise, taking place in a New Mexico retirement community where a group of elderly residents band together to stop an otherworldly threat from "stealing the one thing they don't have… time."

The show has been created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance), who have promised a blend of dark mystery and heartfelt storytelling.

The Duffers and co. have also unsurprisingly roped in one hell of a distinguished cast for this one, including Bill Pullman, Geena Davis, Clarke Peters, Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Jena Malone, Ed Begley Jr., Jane Kaczmarek, and Dee Wallace.

While it'll struggle to reach the pop-culture penetration of Stranger Things - and frankly, what wouldn't? - the cast, crew, and concept all have the makings of an easy smash hit in its own right.
