16. "I'm Talking To A Plastic Plant" - The Happening

There are so, so many terrible moments in M. Night Shyamalan's 2008 thriller dud, but nothing beats Mark Wahlberg attempting to bargain with a plant, hoping it won't kill him as a result.

However, after touching it, he realises it's an artificial creation and says to himself, "Plastic...I'm talking to a plastic plant...I'm still doing it."

Now, this scene isn't lower down on the list because it is at least intended to be funny, but Wahlberg's atrocious, clueless delivery combined with how tonally off-kilter the film is makes it genuinely tough to watch.

In a better film it could've worked, but under these circumstances? It didn't stand a chance.
