The Fast and Furious movies are not for everyone but even their detractors would have a hard time saying their action is anything short of epic. And while Vin Diesel would have you believe that family is what makes these movies so epic, what really sells them is fun. In a movie full of set pieces that feel like they were dreamed up by a kid playing with toy cars, its this moment that takes the cake. Cmon, they dropped cars out of a plane and parachuted them directly into a mountain-top car chase! If thats not epic, then nothing is.The idea of building a major set piece off of whats essentially a fleet of flying cars is so ridiculous but Furious 7 makes it work. No one is giving this movie an award for realism, but its epic scale, specifically showcased in a moment like this one, is exactly why people keep flocking to these movies.
