Though 2010's Will Forte-starring action comedy didn't even make its budget back at the box office, writer-director Jorma Taccone confirmed on Twitter that a "super duper rough" draft of the MacGruber 2 script has been completed, and that the movie will actually be going ahead (likely due to decent home video sales).

While the film wasn't a critical or commercial smash there's a lot to be said for the cult fandom factor, and though belated comedy sequels have a history of not turning out so great (Bad Santa 2, anyone?), at least this one's silly enough that it needs only the loosest grasp on logic to succeed.
