3. Annihilation
Another

Alex Garland, this 2018 horror sci fi adventure follows a distraught Natalie Portman
as she enters a strange zone misshapen by alien forces in pursuit of her
missing husband (a chilling Oscar Issacs).
This flick may not be flawless, but the strange alien creations and their unpredictable effects on the human denizens of this surreal zone demand a re-watch as the film is filled with impressive, gasp-inducing imagery from a mutated bear speaking through a human skull, to a strange mural built out of flowering plants and a decomposing corpse splayed across a swimming pool, to a woman absorbed into some shrubbery.
It’s as odd, and oddly fascinating, as it sounds.
