Why It's So Ridiculous: Aside from the fact that Anakin literally stops the movie to get a giant exposition dump, there was simply no need for George Lucas to so blatantly de-mystify the nature of the Force and give it a pseudo-scientific explanation nobody asked for.
Wasn't the Force way cooler when it was just some ambiguous space magic? Fans responded to Lucas' absurd over-explanation almost universally negatively, and with damn good reason, because it's been a laughing stock ever since.
