Why It's So Ridiculous: Even poor James Earl Jones couldn't make this hideously bad line work, and it's once again a testament to George Lucas' tone-deaf writing and direction that he didn't think people would find it howlingly hilarious.
What should be a heartbreaking moment that fully realises the creation of one of cinema's greatest all-time villains has instead been a running joke among fans ever since. There's some undeniably cool stuff in this scene, but it's ultimately derailed by that absurd line.
