The marketing for Game Night did a terrible job of selling it as anything more than the most typical, generic studio comedy which would most likely waste its skilled ensemble cast.

So what a shock it was, then, when it ended up scoring four-star reviews from many outlets, and in turn ended up one of the best-received studio comedies of 2018.

With a rock solid 6.9/10 average score, critics weren't merely slapping the film with a lazy three stars and moving on.

There was a ton of press support for Game Night, and given its unexpectedly strong blend of smart laughs and gorgeously-shot action, rightly so.
