17. The "Sexual Grooming" Scene - Show Dogs
Show Dogs may look like a dumb yet harmless family comedy starring talking animals voiced by celebrities, right? Wrong.
The atrocious film was widely lambasted for a peculiar sequence in which Rottweiler hero Max (Ludacris) is forced to enter a dog show where his genitals will be fondled by judges. Max is naturally worried, but another dog, Philippe (Stanley Tucci), advises that he simply "find a happy place" while being groped.
It's a flabbergastingly tone-deaf moment in a film aimed squarely at children, and was criticised by many for sending kids a potentially dangerous message about unwanted touching. The backlash was vocal enough that Global Road Entertainment hastily re-cut the film to tone the scene down.
That such a scene made it past so many studio checks and balances before being projected in cinemas around the world, however, is astounding.
