15. Tom Was Dead The Whole Time - Last Christmas
A lot of people had their suspicions about Last Christmas as soon as the first trailer hit, and when the film was finally released, those people were absolutely vindicated.
The film revolves around a Christmas-themed meet-cute between self-confessed trainwreck Kate (Emilia Clarke), who the year prior had a heart transplant, and the dashing-yet-mysterious Tom (Henry Golding), who seems to appear just whenever she needs him to.
As it turns out, Tom not only died the year prior and is a freaking hallucination, but it's his heart that she received in the transplant.
To clarify, the film literally acted out the lyrics to George Michael's "Last Christmas," namely "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart."
Whether you dug the film or not, there's no denying the utter shameless craziness of this third act rug-pull.
