20 Most WTF Movie Moments Of 2022 (So Far)

2022 has been quite the year for cinema so far, both on the big screen as the theatrical side of the industry continues to recover, and at home where streaming services continue to battle for your eyeballs' attention.
We're roughly mid-way through the year, so what better time to pore back over the past six months of films and recall some of the boldest, barmiest, and most troubling moments inflicted upon us?
From an hilariously out of place scene in a certain meme-worthy superhero movie (you know the one), to surreal asides nobody saw coming, jaw-dropping cameos, and shockingly brutal death scenes, these are the movie moments from 2022 that've made audiences audibly say, "What the f**k!?"
In some cases we were left in stunned amazement, while in others we wondered quite what the hell the filmmakers were thinking, but in any event these bursts of cinematic weirdness won't be forgotten any time soon.
The rest of the year will really need to go some to displace most of these deeply deranged scenes, but we'll have to just wait and see what glorious insanity the second half of 2022 has in store...
20. Nicolas Cage Makes Out With Himself - The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent
The mere fact that The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent exists is certainly strange, and the film absolutely follows through on the promise of an action-comedy that both mocks and embraces the sheer weirdness of the man, the myth, the One True God that is Nicolas Cage.
Several times throughout the film Cage is tormented by "Nicky," a figment of Cage's imagination resembling his younger and more successful self.
Nicky is achieved through impressive and just-uncanny-enough digital de-aging, and because seeing Nic Cage speak to his younger self isn't odd enough, during one interaction at a restaurant as they discuss "their" career, Nicky grabs Nic and gives him a big, sloppy kiss.
To add to the hilarity, Nic seems to enjoy it and actively leans into the smooch, culminating in Nicky shouting "Nic Cage smooches good!" Put it on a T-shirt already.
