In Star Wars: On one hand, Samuel L. Jackson was unforgettable in his part as the purple lightsaber-wielding Jedi Master Mace Windu, who infamously got defenestrated by Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) in Revenge of the Sith. On the other, though, Jackson's fans were largely disappointed he didn't get a meatier role: for someone whose strength is his intensity, he was mostly just asked to sit around and, well, not do very much. The New Movie: In this new take on the Tarzan myth, Jackson will play real-life American Civil War veteran George Washington Williams, which after his recent work on Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, shouldn't be too much of a stretch (though will be decidedly more PG-13). Not much is known about Jackson's character yet, but from the trailer he appears to be on Tarzan's side and is somewhat enamoured with his legendary status. Even if the film blows (given the negative press that's already mounting), it should be a fun part for SLJ all the same.
