Coming from director Gavin O'Connor (whose film Jane Got A Gun will also finally be released this year), The Accountant is about, well, an accountant (the forensic kind) who helps to un-cook the books for illicit clients. There's a very impressive cast for this drama, including Ben Affleck in the lead role, the always great (even if the film's not) Anna Kendrick, J. Jonah Jameson (sorry, J.K. Simmons), and Jeffrey Tambor. Bernthal will be a character called Brax, which is probably the most Bernthal-sounding character name you could hope to find.
